Question: How to fix the annoying connect/ disconnect issue with Android phone on Windows?

Answer:

What seem to work so far.:

  • Use a USB 2.0 hub.

Did all these thing, not sure what really fix the problem:

1- Open device Manager.
2- Human interface Devices. ( you will find many options such as micrsoft hardware USB, USB input device)
3- Right click in one of them or double click.
4- go to power management.
5- Uncheck the option of " Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" than OK.
Note* try to use step #3-5 on all available option*
1. Scroll to the right and type 'Power Options' in the search field and click on it.
2. Click 'Change plan setting' on your chosen plan.
3. Click 'Change advanced power setting' on your chosen plan.
4. Find 'USB settings' and open.
5. Find 'USB selective suspend setting' and change it to disabled for both on battery and on power.

Method 2:
1. Click on Windows key + X and then, select Device Manager.
2. Locate and expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers” in the Device Manager Window. The one to uninstall is "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible - Hostcontroller 1.0 (Microsoft)"
3. Right-click on the “Universal Serial Bus controllers” and click on “uninstall".
4. Restart the computer and check, if it works.

This one probably doesn't help.

F2 during boot to go into your BIOS and TURN OFF "Legacy USB Support".

(Haven't done this yet)

Don't follow the provide instruction to find the VID and PID, do these instead:

1. Searh for Settings -> Devices and Printers.
2. Find the problematic device (ex: MTP).
3. Right click -> Properties -> Hardware -> Choose the problematic device (ex: Nexus 5) -> Properties -> Details
4. In Property choose Device instance path -> note the value down and follow the instruction from Step 6.
