XCM Situation Analysis

XCM Solutions is a specialized software company focusing on providing workflow solutions for public accounting firms between 20-200 employees. It has developed a new target audience in small to mid size enterprises supporting the finance/operations and tax functions. XCM Solutions has identified a large, addressable market for their products and is seeking a fast-track towards growth and increasingly dominate market share. 
XCM Solutions currently faces several challenges to its growth strategy. It's primary problem is awareness of its brand and product offerings. Without awareness, XCM Solutions cannot make the consideration set. In order to breakthrough, the brand must be correctly positioned, the company's story must be coherent and compelling, and it must find a way to reach its audience in a cost-effective way across multiple mediums. It's second challenge is getting pidgeon-holed as a workflow company. The brand needs a breakthrough positioning that will map the higher-order benefits of its offering to a competively differentiated message that far exceeds table stakes for the category. The firm was founded in 2003 and sharpened its message and focus in 2010.
