Tonic(Root) -> Single note naming the scale. Ex. C in C Major scale Tonic is scale degree 1.

Tendency Tone (Scale 5) -> Get things in a way in a melody.

Key of the song -> slightly bigger concept that is the tone of the song. "Big picture scale"

Keys > Scales > Chords

Keys can appear near the treble (or bass etc.) clef, before time.
If no keys near the clef, key is C Major.
