Cacher is the code snippet organizer for pro developers

I've replaced the hamburger menu with the text "MENU". 
When the menu is active/open, I’d like the text to be a “+” Plus sign
instead of “MENU”. How would I do that?

I'm a web designer and front-end developer, very familiar with CSS and html, but not java or jquery.
